Prepared Food Team Leader

Reporting to the store manager, you will have a lot of responsibility for food service and retail food stations throughout the store.

In conjunction with management colleagues; you will be responsible for staff member hiring, development, terminations and generally holding your team accountable for their work.

The Team Leader is responsible for profitability, expense control (packaging and labour), stock control, buying and merchandising, regulatory compliance and special projects as assigned. Complete accountability for all aspects of team operations and the ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of team positions.
We are looking for someone who will lead, not manage, their work teams. You will be encouraged to run your Department as if it was your own business (within certain guidelines of course).

This is a position that will prepare you for future personal progression so you will need proven decision making skills, excellent team cohesion skills and have a clear communication style.

A thorough understanding of prepared foods, food standards legislation, health & safety procedures and a proactive approach to ensuring compliance is maintained at all times is essential.

Retail food chefing or Catering line management experience might prove useful. Some experience in food buying capicity will be a distinct advantage.
